This gathering brings together leaders from the business, civic, government, and academic communities in the Chicago region and surrounding Great Lakes states to discuss and refine a national infrastructure plan. It will aim to identify and build consensus around strategic infrastructure priorities and approaches in the Great Lakes megaregion that could be included in a national infrastructure plan and the authorization of a new federal surface transportation bill in 2009.

This forum is part of America 2050 (www.America2050.org), a national initiative to develop an infrastructure strategy for America ’s future growth, competitiveness and sustainability.

 

The forum is co-sponsored by the Metropolitan Planning Council and Regional Plan Association, with funding support from the Rockefeller Foundation,Surdna Foundation, and Lincoln Institute of Land Policy.
