Community Rx: MPC Prescribes Solutions for Communities' Development Challenges

The Metropolitan Planning Council’s Community Building Initiative aids communities in addressing difficult development challenges by providing on-the-ground experience in a variety of areas—housing, transportation, sensible growth, infill redevelopment, and zoning. Many communities also face challenges due to market pressures, lack of fiscal resources, and the need for expertise.  Since 2001, MPC has been working to help communities overcome obstacles by providing technical expertise, market-based strategies for community redevelopment, and sensibly planned new development.

MPC’s new Community Building Initiative is actively seeking partnerships for 2006. For more information about MPC’s Community Building Initiative and how it might help your town or neighborhood, contact Heather Campbell at 312-863-6006 or hcampbell@metroplanning.org.
