Lend your ear to support Openlands

Join Openlands and Grammy Award-winning recording artist Will Ackerman for an evening of music, Wednesday, Sept. 1, 2010, at the Spertus Institute's intimate Feinberg Theater. All proceeds from the event will support Openlands' Conservation and Urban Greening programs.

Ackerman, a pioneer in the new age music movement, draws inspiration for his craft from his lifelong kinship with nature, so his concert is a fitting launch of Arts Wide Open: The annual Openlands event will blend the visual and performing arts with the organizatin's commitment to protect the natural and open spaces of northeastern Illinois and the surrounding region.

Attendees will feast on locally sourced appetizers and organic cocktails before the concert, which will feature an acoustic set of songs that span Ackerman's more than 30-year career. Whether you're an Ackerman devotee or not, you'll appreciate this YouTube clip featuring Ackerman's soothing guitar stylings.
