How do you have fun outdoors? The Cook County Forest Preserve wants to know!

Let’s go hiking, biking, fishing, birding, horseback riding, swimming, golfing, cross country skiing, or you tell us! The Forest Preserve District of Cook County recently launched a process to create a Recreation Master Plan, and we would like to provide information about the planning process and gather your input.  I would like to invite you to attend our first public meeting for the Recreation Master Plan at Brookfield Zoo on July 18 at 6:30 pm, you can RSVP here.  Additional meetings will be held in September and January (next year).

The Recreation Master Plan will provide the District with a blueprint for enhancing existing recreation opportunities and identify new ones compatible with our mission. The District currently consist of over 68,000 acres, and offers a wide variety of recreation opportunities, making us the largest and one of the most diverse preserves in the nation. Still, we have room to grow and improve. We are hosting this public meeting to give Cook County residents and community stakeholders an opportunity to be part of the Recreation Master Plan development process. This public meeting will provide an overview of the plan development process, share draft results from our public survey and provide an opportunity to give us input on the plan.

I hope to see you on July 18th! Learn more about the District at www.fpdcc.com.
