Corridor Development Initiative

Helping Communities Plan for Future Development

Communities too often are put in the position of reacting to a development proposal, rather than working to attract development that fits the local vision. MPC is reversing this dynamic through the Corridor Development Initiative, a three-part, participatory planning process that helps local residents understand issues such as density, affordable housing, mixed-use design, and the true cost of development, while establishing priorities to guide future development in a neighborhood. The Corridor Development Initiative is one tool MPC employs to help communities overcome development challenges through the Community Building Initiative.
