New Year's Eve at Navy Pier

Save your pennies for the best deal in Chicago on your New Year’s Eve chauffeur!  Beginning late in the evening on Monday, December 31 through the early morning hours on New Year’s Day, Tuesday, January 1 you can ride the CTA for just one penny.

For over 25 years the CTA has offered the Penny Ride program, providing over 150,000 people annually safe rides home on its trains and busses.  This year though, the CTA decided to capitalize on the success of Penny Rides.  As part of its corporate sponsorship program the agency released a request for partnership for a sponsor to continue Penny Rides.  Chicago headquartered Miller Coors paid $630,500 for a three year sponsorship with a three-year renewal option for a total of $1.36 million to the CTA.

Miller Coors will now be the “Official Penny Ride Partner.” The company receives advertising benefits on the CTA including on fare cards and during customer alerts.  The CTA has found real value in leveraging its transit ridership with corporate partnerships.
