Sasha Marroquin joined the Metropolitan Planning Council in May 2020 as Executive Assistant. In her role, she provides administrative support to the President of MPC, Mary Sue Barrett and the extended management team of MPC. Sasha holds previous experience working in political campaign office’s in Illinois and providing policy research support.
Before MPC, Sasha comes from a background of Public Policy at DePaul’s School of Public Serice, earning her M.P.P. at DePaul University in Chicago. A topic she researched extensively was safety and commuter patterns for Chicago Public School high school students living in lower-income neighborhoods. Prior to graduate school, Sasha received a B.A in International Studies from DePaul University where she focused on a concentration of Latin American Studies and minored in International Politics.
Sasha, a Chicago native grew up in the Portage Park and Logan Square neighborhoods and still currently resides in Logan Square. She enjoys spending her time traveling, trying new local restaurant around Chicago, and practicing yoga.
