Danielle Gallet

Danielle joined MPC’s team in January of 2015. She is a water resource strategist, urban planner and adjunct instructor with over fifteen years of project and business management experience. Her work involves researching and implementing creative and viable strategies that address issues related to water resource planning, management, financing, infrastructure and equity.

As Director of Water Resources at MPC, Danielle oversees the agencies water programs including Stormwater Management, Water Supply Management and Innovative Infrastructure Delivery. Her work centers around leading MPC's Water Supply Action Agenda, facilitating the Calumet Stormwater Collaborative, providing technical assistance, creating resources, leading research and advocating for policy measures that address current issues related to water in order to improve quality of life. She is also author of MPC's Drinking Water 1-2-3 guide for elected officials and community leaders.

Prior to MPC, Danielle was Infrastructure Strategist and Water Supply Program Manager for the Center for Neighborhood Technology (CNT) where her work included a focus on water loss control in drinking water systems and valuing the economic benefits of green infrastructure. She was also a team member at the Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning (CMAP) and helped develop the region's Water 2050 plan. Previous to her career in water and planning, Danielle worked in the private equity field for seven years, which provides her with a unique perspective on the relationship between financial markets, the built environment and natural resource management.

In addition to her role at MPC, Danielle is also an adjunct instructor at the University of Illinois at Chicago where she teaches a Masters course titled Water and the Built Environment. She is a member of the American Water Works Association (AWWA) and sits on AWWA’s national Water Loss Control Committee and serves as Chair of the Water Efficiency Committee for the Illinois Section. Danielle is also a member of the American Planning Association (APA) and sits on its national Water Taskforce. She has a Bachelors Degree in Business Management and a Masters Degree in Urban Planning and Policy.

With a background in contemporary dance, Danielle is a fan of the performing arts, and enjoys running, backpacking and skiing. She is an avid traveler.
